Setup & Getting Started

Do I need to register?

No! Just create a till with a name and password. No email, no registration.

Do I need to install an app?

No installation needed! Tillie works directly in your web browser on any device—phone, tablet, or computer. Just bookmark it for quick access.

Can I use it for multiple events?

Yes! Create separate tills for different events or locations.

What if I forget my password?

Unfortunately, there's no password recovery since we don't require email registration. Make sure to remember your password or store it safely! This design keeps your data private.

Usage & Features

Can I use it offline?

Tillie requires an internet connection, but it's mobile-optimized and works on any device.

Can I change the language or currency?

Yes! In Settings, you can select your region to change currency, number format, and date format. Tillie works worldwide with automatic formatting for your location.

How do deposits work?

You can add a deposit amount to any product (e.g., €2.00 for a glass). When you add the product to the cart, the deposit is automatically included in the total. If the customer brings their own mug for a refill, simply tap the deposit in the cart to remove it. Deposits help you calculate the correct amount to charge the customer.

Can I see what I sold in real-time while the event is running?

Absolutely! Check the Transactions tab to see every sale, or view Reports for bestsellers and revenue. Premium users get beautiful real-time charts in fullscreen mode.

Can I export my data?

Premium users can export transactions and summary reports as Excel files (XLSX). The free version includes all transaction history and statistics in the app.

Product Management

Can I change the order of products?

Yes! Go to the Products tab and drag & drop products to reorder them. This changes how they appear on your main sales screen.

Can I delete products?

Products cannot be deleted to keep your transaction history intact. Instead, you can disable products in the product management. Disabled products won't show up on your main screen — perfect when you've run out of something!

What happens if I run out of a product during the event?

Just disable it! Go to Products, find the item, and toggle it off. It won't show on your sales screen anymore but stays in your statistics.

What happens if I change a product's price?

You can change product names and prices anytime. The change only affects new sales—past transactions stay as they were. So if you need to adjust prices during your event, go ahead!

Can I delete or edit transactions?

You can delete transactions, but you cannot edit them. If you made a mistake in a sale, just delete it and create a new one.

Multi-Device & Sharing

How can I use Tillie on multiple devices or points of sale?

Use the Share feature! Click the share icon in your till, and you'll get a magic link and QR code. Anyone who scans the code or opens the link gets instant access without entering path or password. Perfect for multiple cashiers at different stands!

Is it safe to share the magic link?

The magic link gives full access just like your password. Only share it with people you trust! Good news: If you need to revoke access, simply change your password in Settings — this will log out everyone else.

Can multiple people sell at the same time?

Yes! Use the Share feature to give multiple team members access. Everyone can process sales simultaneously, and all transactions are tracked in real-time.

Is my data backed up?

All your data is stored securely in the cloud and synced automatically. As long as you remember your path and password, you can access your till from any device.

AI Features

What file formats does the AI accept for product creation?

You can upload photos (JPG, PNG) or PDF files of your price list. Just snap a picture with your phone or upload an existing document, and the AI will extract products and prices automatically.

What if the AI gets a product or price wrong?

No problem! You can edit any product after AI creation. Just tap the product to adjust name, price, or deposit. The AI is usually very accurate, but you always have full control.

How does the AI-generated product image feature work?

When creating products via AI or manually, Tillie generates product images automatically. You can also regenerate images and use custom names to get better visual results.

Can I upload my own product images?

No, to keep things simple we only use AI-generated images. They're just for aesthetics anyway! If the AI gets your product wrong, try regenerating with a more descriptive name (e.g., 'grilled sausage in bread' instead of just 'sausage').

Premium & Pricing

Is it really free?

Yes! The free version includes everything most people need. Premium is optional for advanced analytics.

Do I need to pay taxes?

Tillie is not a certified tax system. It's designed for small, casual sales where tax obligations typically don't apply.

Security & Data

Is my data secure?

Your till is password-protected. Only you can access your data.

How do I get help or report a bug?

Click the contact/help icon in the app to send us a message directly. We respond to all bug reports, questions, and feature requests quickly!

Limitations & Workarounds

Can I give discounts or change the price of a single item?

One-time discounts in the cart aren't supported yet. Workaround: Temporarily change the product's price, make the sale, then change it back. Not ideal, but it works!

Can I add items with custom prices on-the-fly?

Not yet! Tillie works best with fixed products and prices. If you're selling handmade items with varying prices (like at a flea market), Tillie might not be the right fit for you — sorry!
